Wearing a comfortable pair of shoes is very important if you spend much time on your feet. Whether you’re standing, walking or running, all of your weight falls directly onto the bottom of your feet. That’s why the shoes you wear are critical to the long term comfort and health of your feet and ankles.

Whether you’re wearing sandals, boots or running shoes it’s crucial that your feet are supported and comfortable. Shoes with support and shock absorption will help reduce pounding on the rest of your body as you walk or run.

In prehistoric times skins or hides were probably tied around the foot for protection and warmth. The sandal, probably the earliest form of shoe, was worn in Egypt, Greece, and Rome; an early form of the boot was also known in Greece and Rome.

The characteristic shoe of the Middle Ages was the soft, clinging moccasin, which extended to the ankle. It was highly decorated and was of velvet, cloth of gold, and, increasingly, of leather. Today the choices of shoes are great…wonderful styles and comfort.

We’ve chosen from only the best suppliers of shoes. Whether you’re looking for women’s shoes, men’s shoes or wedding shoes, you’ll find absolutely any style your looking for on the internet. You can be confident that your personal choice of shoes will arrive quickly right to your door.

Discarded to Divine
DALLAS, Mar 27, 2008 / FW/ — ‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ is an adage popularized by shows like ‘Antiques Road Show’ and by garage sales aficionados. In San Francisco, the concept takes a new meaning as Bay Area fashion designers and design students create one-of-a-kind couture apparel from casts off, the resulting high fashion items are then auctioned off to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s programs for the poor and homeless.

The gala night for the third annual ‘Discarded to Divine’ charity event slated on April 26th with a preview of the items scheduled on April 4th will feature designs by Jessica McClintock, Colleen Quen, Nice Collective, Cari Borja, Verrieres & Sako, Michael Boris and Sara Shepherd.

Together with students from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), City College of San Francisco and Academy of Art University, who will also be presenting their creations alongside industry veterans, the group collection that will be presented are made from ‘charitably donated’ materials made from high-quality fabrics that could range from old tuxedos suits, upholstery textiles, old curtains, tablecloths and linens; even old gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and vintage fabrics.

These clothes and materials, donated ‘as is’ are of no use to the poor and homeless. But ‘recycled’ through the eyes of a fashion designer, a new life is breathed on them. Once again, they become highly covetable.

The brainchild of St. Vincent de Paul Society Help Desk director Sally Rosen, the idea for ‘Discarded to Divine’ was conceived in 2005 when Ms. Rosen was going through the pile of ‘discarded’ materials 1into something renewed and useful.

Rallying help from the Bay Area community, the first ‘Discarded to Divine’ was held in 2006; it became a yearly event in 2007 and this year, the magic has taken more than just a foothold as corporate sponsors like Macy’s West step up to the plate.

The Hottest Fashion Trends for Spring 2008!

It's that time of year again: A new season of fashion trends has arrived! Straight off the designer runways in New York, Paris and Milan, these hot looks are what you're going to see hitting the stores very, very soon. Take a peek at what's coming up, and find out if any of these trends are something you'd like to try out!

FLORAL PRINTS
The image “http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/roeljettabrosa/deliasdress.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Not just a pocket full of posies this season, designers like Ralph Lauren and Valentino went for the full garden shebang! If you're feeling daring you can go for a flouncy dress with an all-over print, or for a little less impact, try an accent bloom on a headband or handbag.

LADY-LIKE WEAR
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/roeljettabrosa/charlotterussenecktieblouse0001.jpgSome of the biggest names in fashion like Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Dior and Yves St Laurent all took a nod from the boys with menswear-type suiting, but then added nipped-in waists and feminine touches to make the looks completely wearable. I think that oxford booties (still a hit from last season) are a fun way to ease into the trend – but if you're really daring you should try wearing a girlie version of a men's necktie!

ETHNIC TOUCHES
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/roeljettabrosa/ethnictopfreepeople.jpgSafari-chic was all over the spring runways and the look was done especially beautifully by Diane von Furstenberg. Think beaded, tribal-inspired pieces and colorful ikat fabrics in modern, feminine dresses. For just a hint of this flavor, go for a graphic-print tunic over your favorite pair of jeans.

TECHNICOLOR BRIGHTS
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/roeljettabrosa/girlpropsneon.jpgBreak out your sunglasses this spring, girls, because this season's clothes are going to be so shockingly bright you're gonna need 'em! Just about everyone from Versace to Zac Posen showed neon-hued pieces on the catwalks, so expect to see vibrant shades of yellow, pink, and green hitting your local shops soon.

TRANSPARENCY
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/roeljettabrosa/zapposclearbagguess.jpgA totally 'cheeky' idea, some risqué designers like the ever-witty Marc Jacobs decided to show transparent or sheer garments in their fashion shows! While that idea is a bit tricky to pull off in the real world, a see-through handbag is a fun, less revealing way to get the look.
